Nutrition support for midlife & healthy ageing.
Evidence-based dietetic care to improve metabolic health, muscle strength and bone health
Dietitian | Midlife & Metabolic Health | Muscle, Bone & Healthy Ageing
Lime Nutrition was founded by Accredited Practising Dietitian Paula Packer to provide personalised, evidence-based nutrition care for women through midlife and beyond.
Midlife brings significant hormonal changes, including declining oestrogen, which influence metabolism, body composition, bone density, and long-term health. Many women notice changes in weight, strength, energy, and overall wellbeing during this time, alongside an increased risk of conditions such as insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and muscle loss.
Nutrition care focuses on helping you understand what’s happening in your body and providing practical, sustainable strategies to support metabolic health, preserve muscle and bone, and protect your long-term wellbeing. This work is informed not only by clinical training, but by a deep understanding of the real-world challenges women face during midlife and beyond.
Care is tailored to the individual and delivered in collaboration with your GP and healthcare team, supporting both prevention and management of chronic disease.
Clinic and telehealth appointments are available.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Nutrition during midlife can feel confusing and frustrating, especially when your body no longer responds the way it once did. With the right support, it’s possible to protect your health, maintain your strength, and feel confident in your body again.
How I Can Help
Midlife brings real physiological changes — to metabolism, muscle, bone and blood sugar. Nutrition needs to adapt too. Common areas I support include:
Midlife metabolism & weight changes
Support for insulin resistance, abdominal/visceral fat and energy changes through menopause. Practical, sustainable strategies that improve metabolic health without restrictive dieting.
Muscle & bone strength
Protect muscle, maintain strength and support bone density through targeted nutrition. Muscle is central to healthy ageing and your long-term independence.
Chronic disease & long-term health
Nutrition care for cholesterol, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, osteopenia/osteoporosis and age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia), with evidence-based plans developed alongside your GP and healthcare team.
Appointments
Initial consultations are 90 minutes and include a comprehensive assessment and personalised nutrition plan tailored to your health, goals and stage of life. Follow-up sessions provide ongoing support and adjustments as you progress.
Clinic and telehealth available. Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referrals welcome. Private health rebates may apply.

Yes. These medications can be valuable tools when prescribed appropriately, particularly for people with insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, or metabolic health concerns.
GLP-1 medications reduce appetite and slow digestion, which often leads to people eating significantly less. Without appropriate nutrition support, this can increase the risk of inadequate protein and nutrient intake, unintended muscle loss, fatigue, and poor long-term outcomes.
As a dietitian, I work alongside your GP and healthcare team to support your health while using these medications. This may include helping you:
• Preserve muscle and minimise muscle loss during weight reduction • Maintain bone health and reduce the risk of accelerated bone loss • Meet protein, energy, and nutrient needs despite reduced appetite • Manage side effects such as nausea, early fullness, or reflux • Develop sustainable eating patterns to support long-term health
These medications are often used for a defined period of time, and many people eventually reduce or stop treatment. Research shows that weight regain is common after discontinuation if underlying nutrition, lifestyle, and muscle mass have not been adequately supported.
For this reason, nutrition care focuses not only on supporting you while taking the medication, but also helping you build the foundations needed to maintain your health and weight outcomes long term.
GLP-1 medications can be effective tools, but they do not replace the need for appropriate nutrition care. The goal is not simply weight loss, but protecting your strength, function, and metabolic health over time.
Support is available whether you are currently using these medications, considering them, or transitioning off them.
My approach focuses on improving metabolic health, strength and body composition rather than restrictive dieting. As muscle, nutrition quality and metabolic health improve, weight and abdominal fat often stabilise naturally as a result.
While you’re a client, you’ll receive access to a meal planning and recipe app, and I’ll teach you how to plan meals in a way that suits your health goals, preferences and lifestyle.
My approach focuses on building skills and confidence so you can plan meals independently over time. If you would prefer a fully customised meal plan created for you, this can be arranged and an additional fee will apply.
